The best sushi in town and Chef Mike's sushi creations are amazing. It is so delicious. It is a must to visit when you are in Venice or Siesta Key.

I ordered the Panang Curry with mixed vegetables, as I’m a vegetarian. Although the curry was tasty, I did not appreciate picking out pieces of CHICKEN!

Pretty good veggie spicy basil. Ordered medium and was a bit on the mild side. Went home and added more broccoli and crushed red pepper flakes to help it out. Would get again but not the best I've ever had.

Adam and Mike the sushi experts were professional and knowledgeable and most of all, outgoing and personable and upbeat. At first, I ordered thai food and sat up at the sushi bar and then Adam gave me a complimentary spicy tuna bite. It was so so good that I ordered a whole Roll and they went above and beyond and put time and effort into the dish. One of the best dining experiences ive ever had. Thank you star thai and Sushi. Great price as well.

Best of Venice! I’ve eaten a lot of Sushi and Sashmi and the flavors are beyond great. My only regret was that we got it ToGo. Highly recommend getting the Octopus.

Hours of operation are limited.Older woman waitress is always rude.We have frequently been very good customers here spending over $2k in 3...4 months. And we are excellent tippers. Food is great. Location good.Atmosphere good.Service and professionalism is VERY POOR.Example 1. We have been put to wait when the 6 top is available and their is 3 in our party that spend more than 6 people. If your a big spender and the 6 top is open with 1 hour to close ...accommodation is key. They made us wait 30 minutes and the 6 top was never used. Example 2. 30 minute to close and we are told in a rushed manner our kitchen closes in 10 minutes so we need to order now.Again we normally spend $120 + just 2 adults. 1-6 year old and well mannered.We ordered sushi not hot food from kitchen. Why own a restaurant if you can't maximize your profits and customers experience as they are guests....take care of them ...we work hard for our $$$ we don't have to spend it at your place if you can't accommodate us.

🍽️First-time visitor for dinner. Quite the business very busy with a good turnover food fresh like the spices! Staff very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Very delicious was informed that they had a buffet for lunch so must come back and check out. You would not know that this was a new restaurant only open 5 months they were handling everything like experts , check it out 🍴

Too bad the owner Mikey don't stick the business as a restaurant owner. He thinks he's a marriage counselor and in the fears and people's marriages. I've had Thai food and just as nice as places at a much lower price. He is overpriced. And I never had anybody say when you're leaving the restaurant I love you I love you how stupid. Also Mikey goes online and post is on reviews with different names to boost his ratings

To see it from the street you wouldn't think twice about it.. but going in, it's small and cozy and super nice but casual. It was super packed last night and most of the people eating there were known by name.. that's usually a good sign! My boyfriend and I went for date night... yes the service is slow but the food makes up for it in high volumes!!! Great presentation and by far the best sushi I've had in a while! If you go, plan to spend a good bit of time.. but well worth it! And a great price too!! A hidden gem! ❤

It is hands down the "VERY BEST" Thai & Sushi i have ever had! The staff is friendly and the service is always been great. The Chefs are very creative and the presentation is amazing. I have brought my family and friends in and always recommend Star to anyone visiting. It is oftentimes crowded but very worth the wait! Many Thanks!!

This place was fantastic! Small and wonderful. Sure to become my new favorite place. Their menu was everything I've been looking for and more. The Red Curry was on point. I wish I could have had one bite of everything they offer. A full Thai menu and also a page of Japanese cuisine and a large sushi and sashimi board that has something for everyone. The Star is my 5 Star.

Came in to pick up my order on time.. Was told by the guy making sushi it would be ready "soon" in a very sarcastic tone.. The sushi was finished 15 minutes later than the time I was told.. That would have been just fine had he been kind and provided a nice atmosphere for me to wait. No thanks!! the guys at Baiyoke are always very sweet when you come in.

This is the real deal; imaginative dishes, very artfully prepared with interesting combinations, and using the absolutely highest quality ingredients. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and well-trained. Very highly recommended!

Sushi very fresh and delicious. Wait staff friendly but slow take too long to check on customer's needs after delivring food to table. Next we will at Sushi Bar.

The sushi here was amazing!! I can’t speak on the Thai food as we didn’t try it but we really liked the sushi. The food came out super fast. Normally we never enter a restaurant if they are within 45 minutes of closing but tonight I came straight from work. The wait staff was super nice and didn’t act bothered by the fact that we came in 40 before close. I ordered a miso soup, crunchy spicy tuna, spicy tuna and a 3 sum and it was all delicious. I can’t wait to come back and try their different options.

I read the recent negative reviews and was nervous. My previous visit a year ago went well but was unsure about tonight. Whatever issue they had they are aware. I think every employee asked me how I was multiple times and had the manager thank me twice for coming to them. The caring was almost too much, excellent service and the established excellent sushi

I'm totally serious when I say one of the best meals I have ever had , the service, the presentation, the taste everything is unbelievable go sit at the sushi bar you won't believe you are sitting in a strip mall next to big lots I've eaten all over the world this is a meal you won't forget till you go back the next time and the next its that good

Wow! What an amazing experience! The food was outstanding, our server was really sweet and our sushi chef was AMAZING!!! We had sushi and Thai food and everything was delicious!!! The chef even made us a special treat to try! We will definitely be back! I HIGHLY recommend! If you havent tried Star Thai, you are really missing out.

Went for dinner and I ordered amazing , my meal, with tofu since I'm vegetarian. It arrived to table with cold tofu. When I asked if the fried tofu was precooked I found out it was cooked previous day and they used hot water to warm it. The waiter gave me 20% off for the poor meal. I don't plan on going back.

Hostess and service are a little disorganized, but we got good seats and everything we asked for during our meal. The food was excellent. Good flavor, nice and hot. Reasonable prices. Will definitely go again.

Best lobster roll! Many yummies.

Went here with my family of 4 and they sat us pretty quickly, but took awhile for the server to grab our drinks and our food. They were busy for a Monday night and the food came out pretty quickly. I love how they displayed the entree on oversized bowls. The sushi was pretty good for this area.

Love the Thai dishes and maki rolls. Had the gyoza as an appetizer and I would have liked them crispier. The dipping sauce needed some chili garlic sauce to add some heat, they had sriracha sauce, it worked but not the same texture and flavor. We had a reservation and recommend having one unless you want the sushi station spots but even then you can find yourself with a wait. Friendly staff, they were busy and we had to flag the down. We likely would have had another round of drinks otherwise.

We found the staff exceptionally rude. We were overlooked repeatedly by the management staff who blatantly ignored us and were negligent in seating us. We got there at 6:15 - we walked out ar 8:15 and had not been served. When asking after our meal, the staff was belligerent and condescending.The dinner might be good... but we are not sure because we never had a chance to taste it.

Very good Thai food. Much better than Thai Bistro in food quality and service. The Tom Kha soup is perfect and has a lot of chicken. The spring rolls were hot and fresh. The pad Thai was better than most of the Thai restaurants within about 30 miles. The nam sod was something new for us. Very tasty but has a sharp smell due to the fish sauce. We got there 45 minutes before closing but they were very courteous to us. The food came out fast. We will be back.

Some of the best sushi in area...sometimes a wait for seating. Mike, the owner likes it when you call him sir ;)

The best Thai food I’ve ever had. Love their curry dishes. Everything is always so fresh and delicious. Their lunch specials are a great deal. Open for takeout only now. They all wear masks. Please get takeout and keep them going!

I love eating any kind of Thai food, Chinese or Japanese food. This is possibly the best Thai or all of the others hands down. I ate once about 3 years ago when they first came into Venice. Been here twice in the last month and it better each. The cook and the rest of the staff are great too.

To say this is the best sushi experience I've had in the States is an understatement. The staff plays lo-fi chillhop to keep the aesthetic optimistic, everyone is sociable and gracious, the sake affordable, and the food exquisite. The sushi is inexplicably fresh, incomparably delicious, and consistantly perfect. If you dont eat here we cant be friends.

Ordered for pick up. Gave them our number in case they needed to contact us for any reason. On arrival we are notified that their cards are down and to “go out and get cash” while our food sat on the front counter getting colder by the second. We didn’t come back. The staff needs to be part of a training video.

Mikeey and Om are the best as well as the rest of their gracious staff. The sushi and sashimi are works of art. The Thai food is the best we've ever tasted! Love!!!

The food is taste so fresh. It is made so artfully and beautiful you want to take a picture of it and hang it on your wall. I definitely recommend it.
